Providing Virtual Care* in Virginia Only
Seeing people 6 to 65

Maura Constance (she/her) is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner who provides virtual mental health appointments to clients ages 6 to 65 throughout Virginia.
How Maura Approaches Care
Maura's foundational principle is providing a space of complete acceptance for all people, so patients can grow in their own self-acceptance, pride, and strength. She employs a humanistic approach that considers the whole person—looking at how past experiences and present circumstances contribute to mental health challenges. She doesn't just treat symptoms—she partners with you to understand your complete story and goals.
Clinical Background and Expertise
Maura earned her BSN from the University of Maryland, Master of Public Health from Columbia University, Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Marymount University, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from George Mason University. Her career has focused on reaching marginalized populations—from working with HIV-positive street youth at Covenant House in New York to providing primary care at free clinics in Northern Virginia.

Maura has extensive experience with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, addiction, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ADHD. Her dual certification in psychiatric and family medicine, combined with public health training, gives her a comprehensive perspective on how mental, physical, and social health interconnect.
About Maura
Maura is deeply connected to the LGBTQIA+ community through her children, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. She lost close friends during the AIDS crisis and was a member of the AIDS and Adolescent Network in New York City in the early 1990s—experiences that shaped her commitment to providing judgment-free, accessible healthcare to LGBTQIA+ patients.

When not working, Maura enjoys running, biking, reading, visiting art museums, and spending time with family.
