Calvin Layne (He/Him) is a cisgender man who lives his experience within the LGBTQ community. He’s an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides virtual appointments to clients in DC, VA, and soon MD. Calvin offers more than five years of experience working in pediatric and adolescent mental health as a Nurse and enjoys offering care to members of his community as a Nurse Pracitioner. He’s excited to use his knowledge and skills for the diverse patients we serve.

Calvin’s diverse approach to care includes science-based holistic mental health care. He focuses on your goals, lifestyle, culture, and the challenges you face. This science-driven model includes a lot of listening to your challenges and desires as well as modern medication complementary/alternative medication management solutions, to help meet your goals. He prides himself on providing care that is nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, and inclusive, and he believes care should be patient-centered, goal-oriented, and collaborative.

 

Calvin graduated from UVA with a BA in Psychology. While seeking a more impactful career in direct patient care, he obtained his BSN at VCU. While working in psychiatry as an RN, he worked hard at school and direct patient care in mental health to get his MSN from VCU. He then attained his ANCC Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - across the Lifespan.
